Dave has worked in long term care for several years and brings a dynamic leadership style to Schenectady Center encouraging teamwork at all levels. He believes that establishing trust with Residents, families and staff is at the core of a great facility. Throughout his career, this approach has proven to guide teams to provide the highest in quality and compassionate care.

Heather Tourtellot ,RN

Director of Nursing

Heather has worked in long term care for 19 years in various roles including CNA, LPN, and RN. She loves being the Director of Nursing and is a dynamic leader, working with the team to ensure that Schenectady Center is a great place to live, and to work. When asked what makes her demanding role worthwhile, she says: “The opportunity to increase a person’s quality of life means the world to me. Seeing smiles on the faces of those that live here makes it all worth it.”

Amanda Alicandro ,RN

Assistant Director of Nursing

Amanda has always wanted to be a nurse in long term care and proudly followed in the footsteps of her Grandmother, managing both post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care units before becoming the Assistant Director of Nursing at Schenectady Center. In the challenging environment of long-term care, Amanda uses her clinical expertise to provide guidance to the team, ensuring the highest quality of care for all that reside in our building.

Ashleigh Mahoney MS, CCC-SLP

Director of Therapy Services

Ashleigh became a speech-language pathologist after receiving speech therapy as a child. She had such a positive and life-changing experience and wanted to offer the same to others that needed help. She has worked in post-acute rehabilitation and long term care for over 11 years and has certifications in several specialty areas including FEES, Vital Stim, and LSVT Loud. Ashleigh manages the three-level therapy department which includes speech, physical, and occupational therapy at Schenectady Center, and utilizes some of the most technologically advanced equipment. As the therapy department manager at Schenectady Center, Ashleigh credits the positive outcomes of the department to the high level of therapy and professionalism that her staff offers each individual patient.

For the absolute highest quality of care, Schenectady Center staffs medical providers on each unit who stay in constant communication with leadership throughout the day. Team collaboration is our forte, and this commitment helps us maintain an unbeatable continuum of care.

Our team also works hard to keep therapies as consistent as possible, tracking all communications through an advanced electronic medical record system. This ensures immediate transmission of information across the entire care network.
